But the machismo is over-the-top and too loud for it to be truly entertaining, in spite of its star power. In the tip, xXx: Return of Xander Cage is a throwback to a bygone era when movies were made for young adults - and it doesn't do much to make up for its loss of a story. While Vin Diesel is a able actor, his efficiency here is stale and out-of-place during this cheesy action flick.
